The Activity Log

Every workspace keeps a log of the actions that changed it. Owners and admins read it under Workspace settings, on the Activity tab.

Entries are never deleted and never expire.

Names are copied into the entry as it is written, so it still reads after the bot is deleted and the person has left.

What Is Recorded#

AreaActions
MembershipInvited, accepted, invitation revoked, role changed, bot access changed, removed
WorkspaceCreated, renamed, deleted, restored, erased, logo changed, logo removed
OwnershipTransfer offered, accepted, rejected, expired
BotsCreated, archived, restored, erased, moved in, moved out
ChannelsConnected, disconnected
DataContact erased, leads exported, conversation transcripts exported
BillingPlan changed, conversations purchased

Each entry carries who did it, when, and what it was done to.

Which Reads Are Logged#

Two: a leads CSV export and a conversation transcript export. The entry records how many rows left, and not what was in them. Nothing else anybody reads is recorded.

Names in an Entry#

The name of the person who acted and the name of the thing they acted on are copied into the entry as it is written, so an entry still reads "Bouglas was archived by sam@acme.com" a year after both are gone.

An entry carries no personal information about a visitor or a lead. An erasure entry records the reference of the erasure and never the address that was erased.

When Somebody Closes Their Account#

Their entries stay and their name is replaced. The record that an action happened belongs to the workspace.
